YBM Daejeon opened in the spring of 2005, and it is one of the best-equipped and well-designed academies in terms of teacher resources, computer and internet access, and classroom layout.
Located less than an hour from Seoul, Daejeon “Korea’s Science City” is the very modern, convenient, and comfortable home of about 1.5 million people. The city has all the benefits of BIG city life, but with much lower living costs and less stress. All teachers live within walking distance to the school which is located in Dunsan-dong, Daejeon’s new center for business, entertainment, and shopping.

The bus terminal to Seoul and/ many other places in Korea is a 10 minute walk from the school. Likewise, access to the KTX (high-speed train) is only a 5 minute walk and then a 12 minute subway ride from the school.

Our enrollment comes from a variety of backgrounds: university students and recent graduates, science researchers, business people, and homemakers. Our team consists of 7 native English speakers. Teachers here are given the opportunity and choice to teach a numerous variety of classes including; Speaking, Hot Topics, Business English, Writing, and TOEFL/TOEIC, and other. Regular paid overtime is often readily available, as is extra overtime work on Saturday.

We are consistently looking at ways to be more efficient in terms of managing visa/immigration paperwork, payroll, schedule, teacher development and support. Whether you have teaching experience or are just beginning your ESL career, YBM Daejeon is a good choice. All interested applicants are encouraged to contact Brett Bouchard, Academic Supervisor, at the above address.
